I'M EXCITED TO JOIN THE ACCELA TEAM BECAUSE... It’s an environment that is growing while remaining hospitable! Erin and Jen were genuinely great to meet, and everyone else involved in my on boarding was nice in our brief exchanges. I feel that the atmosphere is conducive to productive work, and I’m looking forward to meaningful conversations.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT MY NEW ROLE IS ... Working with lifestyle brands. I’m always finding myself writing Google Reviews for places (mostly restaurants) I’ve visited, as well as subconsciously analysing copy for brands’ social media accounts. Despite my background in communications, I focused more on tech and marketing - It would be lovely to be doing that on a professional level! The idea of helping companies like restaurants, cafes or hotels find their voice legitimately excites me.
THE NEXT PLACE I WANT TO TRAVEL IS... Iceland, ideally. Having just come back from a holiday from London and Paris after 5 years without travelling, my next stop would be a place less metropolitan. With its natural wonders, from its tremendous glaciers to magnificent views, I could see myself loving the place. As an photographer as well, it would be a dream to capture its sights.
THE BEST THING I EVER ATE... Hake fish mashed potatoes. Hear me out: this might be recency bias speaking, but I recently had an unforgettable 3-course meal at Les Résistants in Paris, a sustainable restaurant that sources local ingredients for a menu that changes daily. This seemingly-odd combination of fish and mashed potatoes sounded absurd, but it was unforgettable. The mild sweetness of the fish, paired with the earthiness of the potatoes was accompanied perfectly by a blanket of greens and sweet leeks. The entire meal was one to remember and consisted of simple, high-quality ingredients combined in creative ways. It was also an incredible deal as well, costing just €22 for a starter, main, and dessert! I’ll definitely try to go back there when I have the chance.
