Deepavali 2024: How The Accela Team is Celebrating
Wishing everyone a joyous Deepavali 2024! As we embrace the festival of lights, let's come together to celebrate this special occasion. In anticipation of the upcoming festivities, we've gathered insights from the Accela team on their favourite Deepavali memories and their plans for celebration this year.
Deeksha Bhatnagar, Finance Manager
Deepavali is a beautiful festival of togetherness, where friends and family unite to celebrate love and prosperity as the new year begins.
My favourite Deepavali treat is kaju ki barfi, complemented by a delightful array of traditional Indian dishes.
This year, I’ll be in Korea with my family for the holiday, but I plan to celebrate back in Singapore with friends and family. We have exciting celebrations lined up with the Indian community and at my office.
Ain Rani - Corporate Secretary Associate
What I love most about Deepavali is the joyful spirit it ignites within families and communities, the vibrant decorations and the colourful outfits people wear during this holiday.
Usually, my family and I come together to enjoy a delicious meal, whether it is at home or in a cosy restaurant. This year, my sisters and I are shaking things up a bit. We are using the holiday as an opportunity for a short beach vacation — sun, sand, and quality time together!
Wishing you a wonderful Deepavali ahead!
Jean Ho, Talent & Operations Executive
My favourite part about Deepavali is the vibrant street lighting that adds an extra sparkle to the festivities. Also, spending quality time bonding with friends and family.
I can't resist a good plate of chicken curry – It has become a tradition for me, especially when I get invited by friends to celebrate. There's something about the rich flavours and aromatic spices that make it an irresistible choice.
This year, I'll be celebrating Deepavali in Singapore with my loved ones. We plan to catch up over coffee or tea and enjoy a relaxing day together.
Lydia Lee, Senior HR Specialist
I love the festivities! Especially all the light-ups, the Deepavali celebrations are so distinct from our other celebrations
My favourite Deepavali dish is anything that Savitha makes 🤣🥰
This Deepavali, I’ll be volunteering at a Migrant Worker dormitory, hopefully bringing them some fun while they’re away from home
Gayathri Ayavoo - Finance Manager
I love the lights, food and gathering with family and friends. My favourite dish is biryani with chicken curry and I will be visiting my family and have a meal together.
Yi Lin Lou - Finance Associate
Having the time to gather our friends and family together to enjoy the delicious Deepavali treats and also having an additional day to rest is my favourite part of Deepavali. I'm not a big fan of Indian cuisine but I love Samosa and I couldn't resist myself to stop eating.
This Deepavali, I plan to relax at home and binge-watch some Netflix!
Sending love and light to all this Deepavali, from all of us at Accela.
